Carter graduated in May 2026 with a B.S. in Engineering Physics (Mechanical Specialization) from The Ohio State University. He brings multiple years of research experience from the Gear and Power Transmission Research Laboratory, where he investigated high-cycle fatigue failures, crack initiation and propagation in gear teeth, and surface pitting mechanisms.

This foundation in rigorous failure analysis transferred to his current work in the RED Lab, where he applies engineering principles to improve accessibility and discover patient-centered solutions. Carter is passionate about bridging the gap between patient needs and engineering solutions in rehabilitation technology. Interested in durability testing, design optimization for real-world performance, and translating research into products that meaningfully improve quality of life. Outside of work he loves to tinker and would love to restore a classic car one day.
